BYU Women's Conference

Yeah,

I got to go to Women's Conference again this year and I am so grateful to all you who made it possible - KC - thanks Babe, you know better than anyone how much I needed to go!! love ya X;

my kids for being patient when Mother wasn't home to help out with things - homework, snacks, soccer, baseball, softball, dinner (Dad did a great job, but he's no mother!!) - I will work on using the knowledge I gained, for your good - love ya all; and then the babysitters who also stepped in to help - Grandpa Scott, and Susie, my awesome next door neighbor - thank-you so much...you both make my life alot easier :)

So, even though it is incredibly packed with Women of all ages and walks of life, and you have to park west of the football stadium, and you are rushing around trying to make it to all the classes you'd like, and some people are just so slow at walking (I think some of them could still be there!!) and you have to wait in line for everything...classes, bathroom, food, books - I would still recommend it to everyone and know you would love it!!!! I love it and feel so uplifted and inspired to keep going forward and doing the best I can.

We were so blessed to have President Monson come and talk to us at the closing session of Conference and be wrapped up in the warmth of the Spirit that was present. It brought me to tears and made me want to do better and be the kind of person I know I can be.

Some other wonderful speakers were Sheri Dew, Julie B. Beck, Cheryl Lant, and Elder Bateman.

They were all inspiring and gave us alot to think about on ways to improve ourselves and to leave the world behind and to 'Come unto Christ' (this years theme).

I also like the counsel & advice given in certain classes that can help with specific needs i.e. kids!!!

Thanks also to Shirlene for the good company. I look forward to Education Week with you again!

Quotes...
"Motherhood is the greatest potential influence in human life" - Sheri Dew
"God wants to give us a gift; Sometimes are hands are 'full' - what are we willing to 'put down' to receive it?" - Kathy Bryson
"We (women), are the Lord's secret weapon!" - Sheri Dew
"Don't just work for your family, work with them" - Stephen D. Nadauld
"Put your strength to what is uniquely yours to do" - Julie B. Beck
"Don't postpone or delay anything that could bring joy or laughter into our lives now" - President Monson

I sure wish I could have gone!!! I spent my day up at a diabetic conference for school nurses at Salt Lake Community College…. My mother-in-law went to the Women’s Conference and stated it was wonderful. Kids are wonderful!! Being a mother is the best job ever. I’m sorry to read about your little guy. I’m sure it has been hard. I almost lost my little guy. He had a stroke when I was pregnant with him. Your friend, with the Amniotic Embolism… You are right, it is rare… It does happen though. What a brave woman!

So sad I couldn't go. Some women in our ward went and told us about some of the talks. Don't you love talks that help get you grounded on what is important and what is not? I'm hoping to go next year! Love the quotes that you put on.
