Happy 9th Birthday!
When planning for her birthday, McKay wanted to choose a theme, so we looked at some ideas and then picked one that really suited her personality - A Cooking Party - Young Chef's at work!
We worked on putting things together for a week or so, and it turned out pretty good. Everyone had a good time and got to prepare and eat the food the way they wanted it!!
They each prepared their own 3 course meal! We had fruit salad bowls, Lasagna & Salad-on-a-stick, and dirt cups!!
Inbetween courses, we played some games - musical bumps, blindfold the chef and pass the parcel - it was alot of fun!! And they watched parts of Ratatouille movie inbetween the food & games. We had 12 kids here for 3 hours!!!
McKay loved being the top chef and having fun with her friends.
Since her birthday was on a Monday, we had the party on the Saturday evening. Then on her birthday, we all went to watch Brecon play in a Soccer Tournament game (they lost 3-2), and then we took her out to eat at Chili's. It has long since been a Peisley favorite - love the Chips & Queso!! - and she got a free chocolate shake for dessert.
She loved opening presents, of course, and was totally surprised to get a softball bat, bag, balls & batting gloves! It's so fun to give them something that is a complete surprise and see the delight on their faces!! And hearing the 'You're so great! I love you! Thanks so much!!' feels pretty good too :) She also loved the ipod/radio player, books, games and art supplies. Thanks everyone!!
We love McKay very much and think she is a wonderful daughter. She is bright, funny & helpful and has a great spirit about her. She is also our sassy one and keeps us on our toes, but we often get a kick out of her episodes and say she adds a little 'spice' into our lives! She is strong and determined and a great leader. We love you sweet McKay xoxoxoxoxoxoxo
