Part 2

OK, I know I've now joined the ranks of 'pathetic blogger', but I was not prepared for how busy life was going to be once the kids got out of school! I don't remember it being this bad last year!! Or should I be saying this good??!! I must've blocked it out of my memory!!!

Anyway, I'll move forward with the few things we've been up to.

Following Sydney's Gymnastic Exhibiton, we took off for a week and headed to Lake Powell with some friends on their houseboat. Wow, what a great time you'd think, but don't forget, that was during the few days of nasty storms that passed through Utah right before Memorial Day. So our first time at Powell was almost our last as we battled the horrendous waves across the channel to the safety of a cove. KC and I took our boat across while all the kids went on the houseboat. Boy, I was so scared! After 10 mins of creeping forward I asked KC, "shouldn't we get our life jackets out from under the seat?" His reply a casual, "sure". A few minutes more and I am feeling quite panicked and ask, "Shouldn't we put on our life jackets?" Yet again a casual, "if you want too!" I did! and I huddled down and said a prayer - hoping this wasn't my last one on earth!!! Abit dramatic, you think, but you weren't there!!!!!

Well thanks to KC's expert driving and experience, we finally made it across and man, did it feel good to step onto the beach! The houseboat made it over shortly after and the kids didn't seem to be as affected as I was by the whole ordeal! KC later admitted that he was scared too but acted casual because he didn't want to frighten me - ah, bless him!!
Well, despite some rain and wind, we did have a great time and managed to get out playing on the water. The kids fished the hours away, collected buckets full of seashells and loved building in the sand. The sun did appear eventually and we were able to sit on the deck and watch the kids go down the slide into the cold water!! We climbed up 'sand hill' (which is harder than it looks) but offered amazing views from the top to admire!

We took a boat ride over to Glen Canyon Dam and up to Indian Canyon which was beautiful, but also had a rough channel to get through (not quite as bad though, but i wouldn't do it again though!)

Overall, we had a good time with good food and good company and made some fun memories. Thank-you KC my sweetie for taking us; It was a good start to our summer.

Would I go again? Yes, but not during the stormy season!! I'd like it to be abit warmer too :)

OK, you knew it was coming....another slideshow!!! But it's the easiest way to show a bunch of pics!!!
The date for this entry is also showing how crappy I am since it's been a few weeks since I started this post!! Oh well, please look past my faults and enjoy the slides :)

I know what you mean about slacker blogging. It is crazy during the summer. Looks like you had fun on your trip despite the storm. Roger and I went on a trip to Missouri once and were caught in a tornado storm. It makes those vacations that much memorable:)
